Happy Birthday to Dad AND Happy Halloween!

Yesterday was dad's birthday and he is now a whopping 29 years old - next year 30, whoa! ;) We hung out and went out for Mexican and dad enjoyed his pan of jello cheesecake (recipe courtesy of Oma!) for dessert. Dad is lucky mom is pretty much only craving chocolate and with all the Halloween candy available she managed to keep her paws off it! So today we took a fun trip to Cabela's and checked out the animals and all the fish and had a little lunch. Dad walked out empty-handed, what the heck???

Then Jillian said her belly hurt this evening and that she did not want to trick-or-treat, but all it took was a few kids to start coming to the door and she wanted to go out, hooray! We let her choose between her ladybug costume or monkey from last year and she decided on monkey. We were just happy she decided to go out! She declared "Just dad!" so mom stayed home on candy duty while they went to a few of the neighboring houses. She enjoyed a 3 Muskateers from her spoils and was all hyper and excited afterwards - she really loved it and was chatting up a storm while we answered the door for the remaining trick-or-treaters!

And unfortunately I think Gampa Beel has better pics on his camera, but we enjoyed a visit from him last weekend and he & Jilly really hit it off. Jilly even got to stay up an extra hour one night to play! Here they are reading before bedtime. Thanks for coming Gampa!

  2. Yeah I think the girls will understand a little more about Halloween next year. Glad she finally decided to go trick or treating. Sydney had a lollipop on Halloween and chose a 3 musketeers the next day. The girls must love the nougat filling!!
